The Flame War Saga

Brothers and sisters I come before you to tell a tail of a most epic battle of battles in the virtual realm known as cutewithchris.com (or CWC for short) against the evil clutches of the facetious attention seeking wench known as ALANA! She is on a relentless quest to suck the life force and every last bit of attention of our fearless leader Chris. We shall stop at nothing until the pig beast has felt the fiery sting of justice. Until then we shall press on with tenacious tenacity! I implore you dear friends to join our fight and purge this creature most foul. On the day of victory this shall ring from every sound card from every reach of this fair land. For now courage my fellow CWC soldiers, our day of epic pwnage shall come!

And just for the record, none of this is suppose to be taken seriously AND NO I don't have a beef with this kid other than she's a brat and flat out annoying XD. Just thought I throw that in there before anyone starts accusing me of being a big bully....in which I'm not (it's just that my onry side likes to take over from time to time *lol*).

......aren't we taking this a bit too far?

........okay okay maybe that's a bit of an overstatement, but seriously though I don't understand how people get caught up in all of this celebrity hype and take it so damn seriously. If you're wondering what I'm referring to it's about MJ kicking the bucket. Before you go on to think I'm a cold hearted bigga bYZnatch hear me out first. Yes I think it's tragic (especially for his kids) and yes I think it's a shame he left this world on a less than desirable note, but people come on death is inevitable .....do your mourning and move on. IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD! Sorry, I guess I just get annoyed by it,it's almost like the Princess Di bit over again *le sigh*. Anyway, in the midst of all the sorrowful news, forum comments, etc. I found this picture of a sand sculpture done by some guy in India. While gazing upon it I thought to myself "Oh Lord *rolls eyes*,is it going to come to life, the eyes start to scan the beach for children at play, then all of a sudden you here a high pitched cry "HEY KIDS,COME PLAY WITH MEEE! HEEE HEEE SHAMOANIN ,and then one by one he snatches up the children with his tounge like a frog catching flies" " XD I know it's wrong but I had to add that in there......and it gives me a great idea for an animated GIF. I guess we all have our own ways of grieving, might as well let it all out by making sandcastles......er sculptures *lol*.

On a much lighter note........PLAY HIM OFF KEYBOARD CAT!

Whole Lot of Nothin'

Many apologies for the mini-hiatus (like anyone's paying attention *lol*), really haven't been in much of a writing mood the past several days. What seems to be like a never ending job search has kinda bummed me out,but nonetheless I shall keep making strides and prevail.....hopefully. Plus there hasn't been a whole lot going on in my neck of the woods so to speak.

Anywho, enough of the Debbie Downer stuff. While talking with my friend Panda (a.k.a Tyler) earlier today he shared a couple of motivational pieces that had me ROFL (well the first piece more so than the second.)

......after my laughter subsided I took another look at this image and began to wonder a few things about it. DAMN YOU ANNALYTICAL SIDE OF MY BRAIN!!! Of course I recognize Serpentor (behind the podium) in all of his villainous glory as well as Cobra Commander and Duke giving each other the stink eye. Then my attention went to the little boys dressed up as mini Serpentor henchmen.......WHO THE HELL ARE THEY!?........illegit kids he had with Pythona perhaps =? Next up is the dude who to me looks like a bald version of Dr.Wang from Minroiteam and proceeding him are the the guys in black who look like they're from O.S.I (Office of Security Intelligence). G.I Joe is one of my favorite retro cartoons, but I do admit that I didn't follow it as closely as some of the more die hard fans......so
ya anyone know who these dudes are? Or are they just something random the artist threw in there?

Here's the next piece (no offense to those of you who work at a fast food chain):

Going back to the topic of retro cartoons, since I've had a considerable amount of free time on my hands lately a part of that time has been spent on re-visiting the days of yore (the 80's to more exact) a period when cartoons were still innovative and entertaining compared to the mass produced, over commercialized, pile of donkey dung that is today's Saturday morning line-up. Thus far my viewing line up has consisted of:

  • M.A.S.K -Kick ass theme song, plenty of 80's campiness to go around, and a totally laughable antagonist. Seriously who would fear such a klutzy fat bastard as this (especially with a name like Miles Mayhem). Does he remind anyone else of Wilford Brimley in a general's uniform?
  • Bionic Six -80's rip off of Captian Planet (?) Another cartoon with ANOTHER pathetic evil-doer. Enter Dr.Scarab. (And really though, why is there all these obese guys as the villains? Guess the they all had a bad case of dontgiveaflyingf*** when it came to their appearance)

  • Bravestar -YIPPIEEE KI YAY MOTHA *******! (j/k) =P.....had to do it. Was a pretty cool kids show that had western and futuristic themes/motifs to it.
  • Transformers -nough' said.
That about covers it.....for now anyway. Man I miss being a little kid in the late 80's / early 90's. Speaking of shows, while I was under the weather earlier on this week I caught the creative wave (so to speak) while in bed daydreaming and came up with some more ideas for a few show concepts I've been working on for a while (and probably will for a while longer until I make some advancements in my animating skills). Will share more on that another day. TTFN!

Allow Me to Bring You Up to Speed

I think I shall take a break from what seems to be a futile attempt at changing the favicon (.ico file) for my blog and write a more thorough update like I said I would in yesterdays post. Before I delve in I would like to take a trip on the more random and humorous side and share some of my findings while browsing around the interwebs. Last night before I headed to the slumber chamber I was piddling around on Kotaku.com and came across an article about 45 various artistic interpretations on Mario and Luigi from the Super Mario Bros. franchise (you can check that out here). While I was looking around at the different pieces one in particular stuck out to me (I hope to God I'll be able to digitally paint as good as this guy one day) and one artistic finding lead to another. Here's the one that originally caught my eye (Credit to artist Gary Storkamp):

I looked around some more on this guys Deviant Art gallery and found another piece of work that at first didn't really know how to respond to but then I LMAO and it began to grow on me. On behalf on Mr.Storkamp I give you Snoop Kirby Kirb.

*LOL* Man it cracks me up every time I lay eyes on it. God Bless you Snoop Kirby Kirb for bringing a magical ray of sunshine into my day. Anyway, on to the next finding.....TALLY HO! My best bud Mal informed me the other day that she had picked up two new games, one of those being Xenosaga in which I would actually consider to be one of my favs for the PS2 and the other game being The Bouncer. I've seen this particular game around before and have been curios to try it out but have never gotten around to it. So in my state of peeked curiosity I moseyed on over to Youtube to seem if I could find some gameplay footage and was successful in doing so. I found a walkthrough of the game by this fellow / vash12349,who I must say did a little above a subpar job (the dude sounded like he was high off his ass the majority of the time but I guess it might of seemed like that due to so-so sound quality in places.) After watching the first three parts it doesn't seem to shabby of a game considering it's 8 / 9 years old. The game play pretty much seems like a SquareEnix version of Final Fight or Streets of Rage. Don't get me wrong I love those kind of beat em' up,ragdoll physics submerged games. However what kinda put a dint in things was the cheesy dialog and character designs. Scion (who from what I watched from the game play am assuming is the main character) looks like what you would get if Sora (Kingdom Hearts) and Titus (FFX) had a love child, Volt looks like a rip off of Billy Idol (with the exception of his little horns), Kou just looks like some leather clad dude who got in a brawl with a tatoo artist (despite his appearance he has a kick ass banana phone *lmao*), Dominique looks sorta looks like a bite size version of Aerith (FFVII,Advent Children,Kingdom Hearts) with an even more annoying voice, and last but not least we have the Mikado which is a group of penis-shaped,golden armor clad, thong wearing, renegade group of psychopath ninjas that have hightech red goggles who just LOOOooove to kill things / people. I'm sure there's pleanty more characters to pick on but I'll leave that up to your own imaginations. Anyway, despite those quirks of the game I think it would still be worth a try............and you know what I think I shall! Hell you can pick up a copy off of Amazon.com for $5 (if that),so WHAT THE HEY.

Okay fun time is over and now back to reality (j/k). Anywho, I have been quite busy in this little world of mine (a.k.a my home in Dallas) these past couple of weeks since I returned from my extended stay in Oklahoma. The day I got back from OK was quite drama filled. After Andrew (my husband) and I got back home from running some errands and going out to dinner that night things weren't quite right around our apartment. It's hard for me to explain or describe the notion, but you could definitely tell something awful occurred,I guess you could say it was kind of an eerie feeling. When we pulled up to the complex there were some busted lights in one of the entryways and there were some people looking around strangely on one of the upper balconies / walkway on another building facing ours. At first we didn't really give it too much thought and went inside our apartment. Probably between 30-45 minutes later (around 11:30pm or so) I went to go get something out of my car and notice our neighbors gathered around on the walkway (we live on the 3rd floor) looking down at something below. I looked down and there were probably 7 / 8 squad cars lined up in the street along with a few other vehicles (which I'm assuming were either news crews or investigators.) I asked around to see what was up and no one really knew for sure. When I walked out to my car I also noticed that there were some officers walking around with search dogs and a helicopter flying overhead,it all was starting to creep me out so I went back inside the apartment and watched for awhile and eventually fell asleep. The next day when I awakened there were a few police cars parked outside along with a couple of news crews interviewing people. It was driving me nuts that I didn't know what was going on so I went online to check out the latest local news. I went to the Dallas news website and discovered that what had happened was that there was a baby abducted from one of the apartments across from us. You can read the full story here.Supposedly there was a young couple in the process of moving out and at the time of the indecent it was just the mother and the baby in the apartment and the father was at their new home. The mother was in the restroom and the baby (I'm assuming) was out in the front room when some Hispanic guy busted into the apartment, attempted to assault / rape the mother, the mother fought off the intruder, the guy then took off with her baby and proceeded to escape by jumping off of the balcony, and the rest is history. It's scary and tragic to say the least. From what I've read about the incident (and I hate to make assumptions on this sort of thing) it almost sounds as if there might of been some foul play on the parents part. I say this of course due to the fact that there's a significant amount of discrepancies between the different stories that the parents have given to the police and investigators, what kind of assaulter would make off with a baby when trying to make a get-a-way, and on top of that the baby was born prematurely and therefore has physical limitations. I hope I'm wrong on that and that the baby will be found and returned unharmed.

So a couple days after all of that went down (Friday/ the 12th) I had to go back up to M.E.P.S (military entrance processing station) again -___-.Thank you Lord I never have to step foot in that place again.......well with the exception of when I do my finial swear in before heading off to basic and when I have to go take a test for one of the jobs I signed up for). Anywho, needless to say it was a long and yet exciting day. Got there at 5 A.M, reported the the Air Force liaisons office, waited around for who knows how long, got a health inspect done (basically them checking your weight and making sure you're doing fine health wise), waited around some more, and then I finally got to meet up with the job counselor YAY! *lol* And of course none of the jobs I was really hoping to get were available (except Aerospace Physiology), but the selection still wasn't too bad I guess (hey atleast I get to change jobs after 3 years if I want *lol*). From the options that were available these are those jobs I choose along with Aerospace Physiology:

And if for some reason there isn't any job openings in any of those areas I'll be guaranteed a job in the general aptitude area (which ranges from everything from a pest controller to a medical apprentice *lol*). After I got done with the job counselor guess what I got to do?.......MORE WAITING ><. Finally around 1 PM or so I had to go get my finger prints taken and my paperwork processed by some guy named Keith who looked and acted like the dude off of Office Space that obsesses over his red stapler. ( OH YA! MILTON!)

Following that I had the honor of participating in the swear in ceremony (yes they have two ceremonies for some reason.....*shrugs* go figure), in which as corny as it may sound was one of the proudest moments of my life
. I can't tell you guys how thankful I am that God has provided the opportunity for me to serve my country, carry on the Air Force heritage / tradition in my family, to go back to school and finish out my degree, a stable job and income to help support my family, etc. It's a huge blessing in and of itself and I firmly believe it'll be a great and one of a kind life changing expierence. Anywho, pretty much after that was all over with I had to go take a physical for the Aerospace job and then I got to go home YAY FINALLY!

While I was at M.E.P.S I found out that I'm in the D.E.P (delayed entry program) ,basically meaning that I won't be going to basic til later this year more than likely due to the fact that all the spots for basic are filled up. For those of us who are in this program we get to meet up with fellow recruits twice a month and work on drills, marching exercises, go running, play sports, etc. This past Wednesday I went to my first D.E.P meeting and it was pretty cool. We mostly worked on different marching exercises and played touch football (which I royally suck at *lol*). I'm hoping to make some new friends through it and meet people who will be leaving to basic when I do and that will hopefully be in the same flight (Air Force's version / term of a squadron or platoon) as me.

Other than that not a whole lot going on. Since I'll be going to basic later than planed it's back to job hunting I go *bleck*. I think I've made a long enough post, so I'm going to stop for now and go for a run. That's all for now folks! Stay tuned to the same Rachael on the some Rachael channel!

*UPDATE*

It's been a while since Dallas News has posted any new news in regards to the case of the missing baby,it's been a few days since I last checked and thought I would do that now while I remember to do so. Unfortunately (and very much to my disappointment) it appears as if my assumption / prediction was right about the involvement of the parents. For a lack of a better work it's flat out appalling that people would commit such a heinous act towards an innocent child and to think that they're about to bring another one into this world is just absolutely absurd. I hope they both get what they deserve for what they've done. Here's the latest report.

Houston We Have A Go!

Finally after debating......debating.......and more debating this bitc....er blog is almost done, just need to do some fine tuning to the header. That is until I can come up with a better idea as to how I want this thing to look. Anyway,it's good to be back in the blog-o-sphere and YAY for the first post. I would write more but I'm waaaaaay to tired (and lazy *lol*), so I leave you folks with the musical stylings of Mrs.LeAnn Rimes, Chris Isaak, and Forest Whitaker (who might I add steals the show in my opinion *lol*) singing the "Lonely Island Medley". If you're not familiar with who/what Lonely Island is you can check it out here.

Oh and as another closing thought I came across this most awesome item on the Williams Street site and I MUST HAVE IT !!! For your viewing pleasure click here ^^.
